Ted Williams was a World War 2 and Korean war veteran, he flew 39 missions during the Korean War. He was a saltwater and freshwater fisherman; he was one of the best known sports anglers in the 1950’s. He was inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame in 1995. He was inducted into the International Game Fishing Association Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum in 1999. He was inducted into the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George Bush in 1991.Ted Williams spent most of the later part of his life, raising money for the Boston-based childhood cancer charity the Jimmy Fund.
